Meeting with Melanie, #YUJgirl

A brief overview

Can you introduce yourself ? Melanie born in Paris to parents from Spain. I am multicultural, and I feel like a Girl of the World. I love and need to travel. I am a city dweller who cannot do without Nature. I am multidisciplinary, curious about life who does not like to be put in boxes. Sociable, jovial, generous and positive, I like to share quality time, and I also need introspection and silence to recharge my batteries.

When and how did this passion for massages come to you? From a very young age, I wanted to carry out a professional activity that was linked to people. To feel useful and to contribute at my level to make it better. So I started to take an interest in psychology, alternative medicine, holistic health and personal development at a very young age. I also worked with children during my teenage years. This Path began concretely in 1995, in parallel with my studies as well as throughout my professional career in the fashion and dance sector. Then my professional and personal experiences led me to make a second trip to India which was decisive for me! It was during my training in Ayurvedic-Yoga massage, in Goa in 2011, that I had the click! Something crazy happened!! I felt in tune with myself, I finally felt in my place!

What does this represent in your daily life? New challenges, beautiful encounters with people, very interesting exchanges, gifts of life. This is one of the elements that is part of my balance today.

Tell us a bit about your job. What exactly does it consist of? My professional activity consists in having a holistic vision and approach in the care that I offer. I will first clear the ground to see more clearly, on the emotional, physical and psychological levels, to know the background of the person in order to be able to target and best meet their needs on the day of the appointment. My sessions are always different, I always adjust them according to the state of the person. So I'm going to customize, customize! In short, I make a mix of my different practices.

Why massage? Very good question: D For me, massage is Benevolent, Subtle Touch, it's non-verbal Communication, it's Reconnection to Self, it's allowing yourself to take care of yourself, among other things . It is a Benevolent way to take care of yourself in a holistic way. We take care of the inside as well as the outside. As a practitioner, I experience it as a deep meditation, it's movement, it's Breathing, it's a dance, it's postural maintenance, and it's also Kindness towards myself. The skin is a magical part of our physical envelope! The majority of our nerve endings are found in our epidermis, so imagine all that can be generated by Touch!! My experiences through massages in Europe and Asia have always been transformative in my life.

indiscretions

In the cinema, which actors/directors make you dream? More than making me dream, I would rather say who inspire me, and for whom I can feel admiration for the quality of their work, career, philosophy, for what they give off, the messages they they pass… For the directors: Almodovar, Claude Lelouch, Emir Kusturica, Tony Gatlif, Woody Allen, Ethan & Joel Cohen, Martin Scorsese, Hayao Miyazaki, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Luc Besson, Stephen Daldry, Fernando Trueba, for n' to mention just a few…. And for actresses/makers: the list would be endless…but for example…Jeanne Moreau, Fanny Ardant, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Forest Whitaker, Robert de Niro, Audrey Hepburn, Marisa Paredes, Ricardo Darin….

A quote that defines you? Nothing ventured, nothing gained ! Never give up!

What does a day in the life of Mélanie Pietro Rodriguez look like? When I wake up, even before jumping out of bed, stretching sequences for my whole body and joints! Then a healthy breakfast according to my desires, accompanied by hot lemon-ginger water and an organic tea, then let's go! On the way for the day! In general, I try to set aside at least half a day for myself to take care of the backstage (administration, emails, facebook / instagram / twitter communication, updating my website, etc.). From Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. I receive my clients; during my lunch break or in the evening after my sessions I have my meetings for the Happy Green Moments, between noon and 2 I try not to deviate from my 2 yoga classes / week and 3 when I can! And girlfriends meeting minimum once a month. For my balance I need to do my little meditation retreats during the year and once a month I dedicate a day to myself for a massage and other energy treatments.
Here, here…. :)
