A brief overview
Can you introduce yourself ? I'm Rachel Hanberry, yoga teacher and life coach at Yoga Beach House.
When and how did this passion for yoga come to you? When I was 15 I started reading about yoga. I actually took lessons throughout my 20s and 30s. In April 2011, I registered at the Sivananda Ashram in Orléans and my life changed. My journey became obviously, I fell in love with yoga. After graduation, I started teaching! I opened my first studio in 2012, Belle Vie Yoga and created a thriving yoga community - Bisca Yoga Club. In 2015 I opened the Yoga Beach House, retreat center in Biscarrosse Plage and yoga studio.
What does this represent in your daily life? I live my daily life like a yogi! By that I mean - I'm a vegetarian, I meditate, I do breathing exercises or asanas every day. My daily vision is the promise of personal improvement but also towards my family and my community through yoga and being “mindfully” connected. My message - which is in line with my teaching - is: speak the truth! When we have the courage to tell the truth, stop lying, and are able to accept unconditional love, we are able to thrive, overcome, and live freely.
Do you find time to practice during your travels? YES! I like to practice when I travel. We have an old RV and I have a yoga mat that "lives" there so I can always practice. I meditate where and when I want/can!
